095 campeoni di softball!

Tigers win again! Auburn defeats the Tribe in extra innings on JG's grand slam. (In case anyone wondered, this is exactly why I married him.) So, we finish the regular season at 12-2 and it is likely that we will have the #4 seed in the 61 team tournament. Brackets and seeding will be announced on Friday night, and the first round of tournament games start on Monday.

Blogger is still being a little buggy, but I managed to upload a collage of recent photos, below. I also updated the Ostia Antica post with photos, so scroll down for those.

Ths last issue of National Geographic (Pandas on the cover)had a great story, with photos, about underground Rome. Included therein was some of the same stuff you reported. Interesting point, some of the tunnels and etc that have been there 2000 years are still unexplored or even mapped. I'll save my copy for you in case you can't rustle one up.

Yeah, I would love to see the article about underground Rome. I haven't gone to any catacombs yet, but I have seen some catacomb plans superimposed on the above-ground footprint. I'm not a clausterphobe, but I have read enough plans in my life to get a little spooked. Some of them are 4 and 5 levels underground, too. I'm making tentative plans to visit Cerveteri, with ancient Etruscan tombs, which you have to explore with a flashlight. Sounds spooky and fun.
