047 titoli di film

It's always interesting to see how film titles are translated from one language to another. Some things truly do not translate, and sometimes the title is translated to make it more appealing to the target audience. Here are the Italian titles of four current American TV shows and movies. Can you can guess what they are? (NO GOOGLING!)

  • Una Donna alla Casa Bianca (TV)
  • Radio America (Movie)
  • Una Mamma per Amica (TV)
  • Ti Presento I Miei (the same title for 1 US TV show & 1 US movie)
Last week I bought my July bus card for 30 euros. I did this in spite of the fact that I have not yet seen an inspector checking tickets on the buses or trains and I could have travelled for free all of June. Those 30 euros I spent for June would have bought me a really nice dinner one night...

The only translated title that I can make anything out of is the first one. I think it must be that show with Geena Davis.

My all-time favorite French translation of a TV show title is
"Sherif Fait Moi Peur" which literally means, "Sheriff Makes Me Scared."

Any guesses about the TV show??

the best I've got is "Cops" or "Andy Griffith" :) ... or maybe "Miami Vice"?
