037 ci sono soltante 8 squadre

And then there were eight...

Friday:
Germany vs. Argentina
Italy vs. Ukraine

Saturday:
England vs. Portugal
Brazil vs. France

Auburn softball: up to #14 in this week's coaches poll. Next game is a double-header against Florida & JMU on July 9, and I'm soooo nervous! We need to win these for respect in the league. Wish I could be there.

Chicago Cubs: 14 games behind, and in 5th place in the NL Central.

Washington DC: flooded. Is it bad that I'm laughing thinking of all the 4th of July tourists stuck in their hotel rooms?

Delfina: MIA last night. Left me a note saying she'll be back on Thursday but I have no idea why she left. This weekend I move over to Diana's house, a few blocks over, and Delfina goes to Israel for July & August.

NMUSA: Poor Kate.

Actually, NMUSA wasn't that bad...it was just a progress print, and looked okay, all things considered. (Although I do have to define USACE standards soon!) Next up is the (flooded) NMAH...

Nice to hear something from DC, I hear a state of emergency has been declared.

It's been a little nuts. A lot of roads are closed, and a bunch of government buildings (including NMAH and IRS)...traffic's been awful & Metro had a few stations flooded. But I think it's more or less back to normal today.

Have you been watching the breakout year, the banner season that the Detroit Tigers are enjoying? You gotta believe!

Jim - unfortunately I have not. Once the Cubs fall out of contention (week 2 or 3?), I lose interest in MLB. My obsessions with college football & CAN softball take up pretty much all of the time I'm willing to dedicate to sports!

But...looks like Detroit is leading the AL Central by 2 games on a 6-win streak.
